Fitness hindsight - 20/40?

What do you remember about being 20?

For some of us, it may be our current place in time and space, while for others it’s hard to even harken back to those bygone days.

I remember eating a lazy junk-food-vegetarian diet (loads of pasta and cheese) and staying up late to study for exams or write yet another essay. I rarely used sunscreen and never wore sunglasses. I hated the gym just as much as I do now, but I walked everywhere and rode my bike a fair amount (with and without helmet). But how fit was I really? And how’s my fitness now?

Turns out that how physically fit we are around 20 - and how well we’ve maintained our fitness since then - can be quite telling of our future health risks. [Read more →]
