You know that double-rainbow guy (warning: video contains a tiny bit of graphic language)?
His name is not Double Rainbow Guy - it’s Paul Vasquez. And Vasquez told Good Morning America that he was “just on pure rainbow power” and that it was “just the spirit of the universe influencing” him.
But could his (hilariously) ecstatic reaction to the 2 full ROY G. BIV arches have been influenced by a really, really good night’s sleep?
Sleep is restorative in many ways, and according to recent research, a good night’s sleep can help you to see the world in more vivid colours.
via Science Daily: “This is among the first studies to investigate the effects of sleep on perception,” said principal investigator and lead author Bhavin Sheth, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Houston in Texas. “Our findings suggest that wakefulness causes color classification to drift away from neutrality, and sleep restores color classification to neutral.”
Sack out for your full night’s rest, and, while you might not feel “triple rainbow”, transcendentally good, you might be better at picking out a a well-matched outfit in the morning.
